ITINERARY: BOSCO ISOLA: "WHERE THE LAKE FALLS IN LOVE WITH THE SEE" (LESINA LAKE)

Bosco Isola, EU important site (directive 92/43/CEE “HABITAT” – safeguard of biodiversity through  natural  habitat preservation) and Area of Special Protection (directive 79/409/CEE “BIRDS” – suitable area for  the preserving of wild bird species), is a narrow spit of land that parts the Lesina Lagoon from the Sea and represent an interesting proof of Mediterranean forest: woods of fines and holm oaks, mixed with elms and hornbeams, myrtle, rosemary and bay trees and much more.

This unique environment, has been analyzed for years by many expert botanists, who detected the existence of many endemic vegetal species, some of which very rare like the Cistus clusii.

ITINEARARY START: CANALE ACQUAROTTA / ITINEARARY END: SAME PLACE

PATH LENGHT: 10 km

JOURNEY TIME: 4 hours (Planned stop have been foreseen in order to favor the full body efficiency)

DIFFICULTY: T = Touristic (it consists of itineraries on small routes, mule tracks and easy, visible paths,  that  do not present uncertainties, difficulties or orientation problems. Those kind of itineraries are also suitable for hikers on their first experience).
