During this itinerary you can observe some typical elements of the Gargano landscapes churches, fountains, Agrumaria Oasis, olive groves, steep canyons and pinewoods.

After crossing thick pinewoods, fields of olive groves and citrus trees, you arrive to Fonte Canneto, into which flows the steam Asciatizzi and that consequently emerges into the Adriatic Sea in the area called “Molino di mare”.

From here you keep walking until you reach the peak of Monte Nicola (375 m.), which offers a wonderful view on the whole surrounding areas. From here, you start again, by walking through the ancient Tratturo (sheep track) “Chianche lisce” until arriving to the church of Santa Maria Pura.

Under the building of this church there is the “Fontana Vecchia” (Old Fountain); its water has been flowing   into a natural pool since 1885.

DIFFICULTY: T = Touristic (it consists of itineraries on small routes, mule tracks and easy, visible paths,  that  do not present uncertainties, difficulties or orientation problems. Those kind of itineraries are also suitable for hikers on their first experience).
